Princess and Pop-Pop

Abigail's new favorite thing to do every day is to go outside and play with Pop-Pop! She gets braver every day--letting him get closer and closer!! Today, we played outside for a long time with Pop-Pop, and they both loved it!! Abigail kept squealing, "Pop-Pop, Pop-Pop"!! The more she laughed and jumped around, the more he loved it! He would run 'round and 'round the yard, faster and faster, before running up to her and giving her more sugar!! Then the cycle would start all over again...
She would pat and love him, and then get really excited and start slapping him!! Thankfully, he didn't seem to mind, and he just stood there patiently (for about 2 seconds) before running laps around the yard again! It was so funny to watch! Can't wait for Daddy to come home so we can show him how brave his big girl is!!

I'm so excited to be off for a few days with my Honey and my Princess!! Nothing exciting planned (fixing the roof--whoohoo!), just glad to be with my two favorite people! And you know I couldn't miss my Ladybug's first birthday on Friday...

Little Bitty Pretty One!

The pics below are just random shots of our day at home today...it seems like someone just gets more personality every day!! She's so funny!! (I know I say that all the time, but really, she's hilarious!!) She is the Peek-a-Boo Queen--she can do it anytime, anywhere!

My little cheerleader!! Everything deserves a good clap!! She's so supportive, and she definitely has the pipes for it!!

Silly Girl!! She loves her sunglasses (thanks, Aryana!!)! She played with them all day today, and you can see how that turned out!!

The countdown has begun....only 4 more days til the big day!!! Sniff, Sniff...

Big Girl Carseat!!

Oh, sad/happy day!! Here's a pic of the Princess in her Royal Big Girl Carseat...We have graduated out of that ol' baby carseat, and now we're hot stuff!! She looks so tiny, though...I cried after I put it in, 'cause there's not a baby in my backseat anymore, only a big, beautiful Princess who will be a year old in less than a week!! She loves it, though, because she can see everything and dance with Momma to the radio! She is just too cool!!

The Best Day...

Today was just about the most perfect day...

After sleeping all night (YAY!), the Princess woke up in such a good mood! I was a little upset, because Justin was working overtime, and we'd had plans today...but with a growing Princess, a little extra $$ is always a good thing!! As I was saying, Miss Priss woke up in a great mood and was ready to play! After eating her grits, we got down to it! It was raining outside, so we just hung out most of the day. I had fixed myself a bowl of cereal later, and of course, Miss Abigail wanted some. Apparently I wasn't feeding her fast enough, because after a few bites, she said, "Bite, Momma!"!! I almost fell off my chair! Then she said, "Good bite"!! She was talking all day, just as content as could be!!
All day she kept saying, "BayBay"!! (Think Rudy from the Cosby show when they sing the song for the grandparents' anniversary!) It was hilarious!! She'd say it, then I'd say it back to her, and we were both cracking up!! She's got to be the funniest kid ever!!

Every now and then, she'd just get down and just play with her toys all by herself. She kept saying "BayBay" to all her toys and then laughing at them like they were having the best conversation!

Sometimes, she sneaks off to her room and it gets really quiet! She is totally entertained by the sheets on her big-girl bed, and today, she had some other stuff to play with...I think she'd play in there for hours if we let her...

We just had a fun, relaxed day of girl time. Much needed after the past few months...As sweet as it was, it really made me miss my Momma and all of the sweet times we had. I so wish she could be here to play with this little girl who is so much like her...but I know she's smiling down on us. Makes me want to cherish these times even more.

Picture Perfect Princess!!

There's never a shortage of photo ops around our house lately--the only problem just seems to be catching Miss Priss before she's gone...The first pic is her feeding Daddy veggies and ranch dip! As you can see, she loves the dip...not too sure about the carrot, though...

And then we have her other side--Wild Child!! This is what she looked like after AWANA tonight!! She always keeps us laughing...Hard to believe she'll be a year old in less than 2 weeks...sniff, sniff...

Hallelujah!!

This is what the Princess looks like in the morning when she has spent ALL night in HER bed in HER room!! Thank you, Jesus!!! She was in the best mood this morning, probably because she's sleeping better, too!! We've implemented the Hootie and the Blowfish guide to parenting ("Let her cry..."). It was hard the first couple of nights, and I was worried she'd think we'd abandoned her OR that she'd find a way to get out of her bed and land on her head...she's very resourceful, that girl! But last night she did great!! Maybe this is a sign of things to come...either way, I'm thankful for at least one night of good sleep!!

Lately..

...the Princess has been a little (okay, a lot) fussy, what with getting those new teeth and all. She's been a bit clingy and needy--it's tough being Perfectly Princess-like all the time, you know. So we've been standing on our heads--quite literally--trying to please her and get a brief break from the whining! Daddy was holding her the other night, and for the gazillionth time, she wanted up, then she wanted down, then she wanted back up--y0u get the picture. Finally, he just flipped her over his head, which she thought was absolutely hilarious!! He thought it was pretty funny, too, until she got ahold of his nose!! She's got quite the grip, that girl!! He had to pry those sweet, dainty little hands loose!!
Later, she decided she wanted down, at which time she proceeded to play a drum solo on the coffee table! Very musically inclined, that girl!! And she can dance, too!! Such talent!

Finally, she crawled back up into Daddy's lap, grabbed her bottle that he'd been trying to feed her for an hour, and kicked back to chug it down...guess she just had to make up her mind that it was time...

After the bottle, Miss Priss shared some veggies and ranch dip with her Daddy! She ate olives and tomatoes and carrots--or at least sucked the ranch off of them!! I don't know how two Slaydon girls are gonna share the olives and ranch...she's lucky she's so stinkin' cute!!

A Pompadour, A PawPaw, A Pudding Face, and A Party!!

What a busy day...

This first pic is just a glimpse of what the Princess looks like after a ride on the 4-wheeler!! She's got that wild, windblown look!!
We had a surprise visit from PawPaw Jerry today!! The Princess was so excited to see her PawPaw! They walked all over the place and PawPaw got lots of sweet sugar!

Every Princess needs a snack after a good afternoon nap! Miss Priss loves her chocolate pudding, as you can tell from the picture below! If only she could figure out how to lick her lips!!!

This evening, we went to Longville for Aryana's 4th birthday party!! Abigail had so much fun playing with her big cousins! She just wishes she could run around with them! Won't be long...

Happy Grandparents' Day!

The Princess would like to wish all of her Royal Grandparents a very Happy Grandparents' Day!! She is so blessed to have 5 wonderful grandparents to play with, 1 precious Grandma up in Heaven, and 3 fun Great-Grandmothers!! She wanted me to tell you how much you all mean to her! And a very Happy Grandparents' Day to all the other Grandparents we know!! We love you all so much!!

Our newest trick...

Miss Priss can find her way into anything!! I was sitting next to her on the floor, and next thing I know, she's climbed up into her bucket and is grabbing for whatever she can get off the table!! She is FAST!! And strong! And way smarter than her Momma!! She's so independent and wants to do everything by herself!

She almost lost her balance for a minute, but she recovered pretty quick!! She just looked back at me like, "Did you see that, Momma?! I did it!!" Less than a month until her first birthday...where has the time gone???

We were sitting on the porch tonight cutting her monster toenails (those things go everywhere--no sense in cutting them inside), and the Princess had so much fun playing with her royal pooch!! I would call him over and she would say, "opppahh" for Hopper! She would jump up and down in my lap, squealing as he got closer! When he went in for the toe lick, she would screech so loud!! I'm sure all the neighbors were wondering what we were doing to her! If they listened long enough, I'm sure they realized she was having fun! We played this game for the longest time...she loves her some "Opppahh"!

Still trying to get those new toofers on film (or SD card, whatever)--wish me luck!! She just crawled to her room--gotta go see what she's getting into now!!

Daddy's Sweetheart

This little Princess loves her Daddy!! Her favorite place to be is in his lap, playing all sorts of fun games! She always tells him he's #1!!
The Princess has learned to clap whenever she does something funny or sweet. She gets this excited look on her face and just claps and claps, as long as everybody else does!! She is so proud of herself! I don't think self-esteem will be an issue...

My two favorite people...there's nothing sweeter than that!!

I love this picture below! She was laying facedown on Daddy's legs and was wallering (yes, I know it's 'wallowing', but I'm from the country...) around. I said, "Abigail, you're number one!" and she raised right up and gave me the signal!! She's definitely got us trained!! She will raise that finger whenever she wants us to tell her she's number one!!

Not that you can tell in any of these pictures, but the Princess is now the proud owner of 4 teeth!! The top two broke through together over the weekend! (Could be why we've been just a tad tempermental lately...) Can't wait to see that sweet smile with teeth on the top!! I'll certainly post those pics whenever the Princess deems me worthy to capture them!

The last few days...

The Princess is victorious over her pizza!! She gets it everywhere, but she loves it!!

What a beautiful little Princess...who HATES her bows!! They don't last 5 seconds after Momma puts them in...oh, well. Who needs hair bows, anyway!?

Aren't we graceful?? She can only be ladylike for just so long...

Abigail had such a good time this afternoon playing with Uncle Randy and Aunt Beebee!! She sure has missed them and was so glad to see them today!!
