Num, Num, Rice 'n Gravy!!

As you can see, there's no baby here anymore, only a big girl! And this big-girl Princess ate all of Momma's supper tonight!! Thank you Nana and PawPaw for the yummy beans and rice and gravy, Abigail loved it!! I mashed it all together, and she literally ate all of it!! I got to eat the meat and cornbread, but that's all. Guess I'll take what I can get! Miss Abigail has a habit of sticking her hands in her mouth while she's eating, much to the frustration of her Daddy and me, because food gets everywhere! But she LOVES it when we lick the food off of her fingers--she just cracks up! Too funny! She is very excited to get to play with her cousins Claire and Allie tomorrow! There will be lots of photo ops, I'm sure!

Our Girl

I was printing out some pics the other day for Justin to put in his locker at work, and we were going through and looking at all of the sweet pictures of our girl (yes, it did take hours!). When we got to this one, he said, "Print me that one. That's how I see her." I looked at it again and decided he was absolutely right. This is our girl--not always "done up" or Princess-like, but sporting a bib and a big ol' grin! This is just a perfect snapshot of her little (or big) personality. She is so funny and smart, and she always keeps us on our toes...We both teared up as we looked back over the last 10 months--what a long way we've all come. And what a humongous blessing from God in our little ladybug!

Random Pics

Here are just a few random pictures from the last couple of days. Nothing exciting going on (thank the Lord!!), just relaxing around the house. It would seem that the Princess is a bit of a computer nerd--every time her Daddy or I try to do something, she has to be right there to help us push the right (or wrong) buttons! And she loves playing hide-and-seek on Momma and Daddy's bed. She got so excited and laughed so hard, she puked up her broccoli and cheese all over the microfiber comforter. No idea how I'm gonna get that smell out... Lovely.

VBS Commencement/Weekly Church Pictures

Here is Miss Abigail at VBS Commencement tonight. I would've loved to post a picture of her sweetly accepting her VBS certificate, but her Royal Highness slept through the whole thing on Mr. Ty's shoulder!! She didn't even wake up when we went up front and everyone clapped for her. She did wake up, however, in time for a little whipped cream from the "pie" that Bro. Roger put in Mrs. Linda's face! (The boys and girls compete all week to see who brings the most money for the offering. Since the boys won, our pastor put a "pie" in his wife's face.) When we got home, she ate mashed potatoes and gravy and a biscuit from Popeye's!! Don't think we're gonna be able to sneak in that broccoli and chicken baby food anymore. My girl knows what's good!

And as usual, here are some pics of her getting ready for church this morning. She is just precious all the time, but she looks so sweet all decked out going to church. Check out her flip flops--too cute!! Now if I could only get her to cross those fat little legs!

VBS, Part 2

Well, we made it through the week!! It was busy and exhausting, but we had a great time!! Her Highness enjoyed her first VBS, even though she was pretty much sick all week! She's feeling better now, and we got to sleep in this morning! Here are some pics of the Princess and her favorite redheaded cousin!! They had such a good time playing and giving sugars! I'll try and post of few pics of our Commencement tomorrow night!

Vacation Bible School, Part 1

As promised, here are some pics from the Princess' first day of VBS! Isn't she just the cutest thing ever in her VBS T-shirt like the big kids?! She wasn't feeling very well, but she still had a good time playing with her boyfriend, Jackson, in the nursery! She stayed with Nana tonight and she's still not feeling well, but hopefully she'll be back tomorrow night!

Pretty Little Ladybug!

Once again, it's time for our weekly "goin' to church" picture! And, as usual, the Princess does not disappoint!! Doesn't she look so pretty in her sweet ladybug dress?! Enjoy the pics, because with VBS every night this week, I don't know when I'll get a chance to post again...We may just do a major montage at the end of the week, if I make it that far...Just wait til you see her in her VBS t-shirt--cutest thing ever!!

Wake Up, Daddy!!

Daddy just thought he was gonna get to sleep late today, but the Princess had other ideas! She just loves to wake her Daddy up with lots of sugar; but when that doesn't work, a handful of chest hair makes a great alarm clock!! Needless to say, he was out of be shortly after the last picture! Later on, Uncle Tony came over for a visit! Then Abigail helped Momma and Daddy put up chow chow and clean house. What a busy day!

Kitchen Help

You know, it really is hard to find good help these days--except around the Slaydon household! She may be the Princess, but she has no problem helping Momma unload the dishwasher! I had to hurry and get the silverware out before she put it all in her mouth! One minute she was sitting on the floor watching, the next she was being a big helper! She gets bigger every day, which is so bittersweet...she's such a big girl, but she's still a baby to her Momma and Daddy!

So Sleepy...

The Princess had such a hard day today, and she was so sleepy after her fun . She was more interested in dozing off than in eating her mac and cheese!! She eventually relented and we got down to business! Now she's snoozing away and I can get to work!

Hungry, Hungry Princess

Now that the Princess has her teeth, she really loves to eat her big girl food! She wants to pick up anything she's eating by herself and stuff as much as she can in her mouth. And she knows how to use those teeth, believe me! Still trying to get a picture--if you click on the middle pic in the last post, you can see them!

Finally crawling...

...and HATING it!! We thought this day would never come, but here we are at last!! Her Royal Highness is finally crawling! We kinda thought she might just skip that part, because she always wants to walk, but she surprised us once again! She only crawls when she knows that is her only means of transportation--she would much rather be paraded around by a tall person! She cries the whole time--it's hilarious! Maybe she'll start walking before she becomes clinically depressed!

VBS Kickoff Party!!

We had our pre-registration for VBS tonight at church, complete with the Party Trailer and water slides!! As usual, the Princess was the star of the show! Everyone agreed that she was so beautiful in her bathing suit, and she was happy to show off for everyone! We had our first taste of cotton candy, which she loved! I think she would've eaten the whole thing if we would have let her. She was a little too little for the water slides, but she played in the pool part with her big girl friends! She had such a blast and even made pretty eyes at her boyfriend, Jackson (his mom and I have already arranged the marriage--sorry boys!) ! She was so exhausted, so we had to play peek-a-boo all the way home just to stay awake. She crashed out hard after her bath and bottle, smiling from her fun day!

Big Girl!

Just a few pics of the Princess being her big-girl self this evening! She is so grown up! Still working on getting her to flash those two pearly whites, but no luck yet! Stay tuned, she can't hold out forever...

Grace...

Apparently gracefulness is a learned behavior, rather than an inherent trait...that, or her royal legs are to chunky to cross! Nevertheless, she is still the Princess!! I'm sure the manners will come soon enough!

Miss Abigail had a fun day playing with her MeMe and Papa, Aunt Candice, Aryana, and Shannen! She was just exhausted from playing so hard! Come back and visit again soon!

MELTDOWN

Just in case you might think it's all sunshine and rainbows with the Princess, let me set you straight...it ain't!!! The pictures above document the most recent meltdown at the Slaydon Castle. This was what bedtime looked like last night. Sometimes the Princess likes to fight her royal beauty sleep (not that she needs a whole lot, I know), and this is just a snapshot of it in action.
