Grant Christmas Tree Farm!

Today, the Princess, her Momma, Aunt Madeline, and PawPaw Jerry took a little trip to the Grant Christmas Tree Farm! WOW!! If you haven't been in awhile, you need to go!! (I just wouldn't recommend going the weekend after Thanksgiving--chaos!!) While it was a bit crowded (ok--INSANE), we did have a good time!! We weren't actually going to pick out a tree, so the pressure was off! Abigail had fun playing with the donkeys and goats, and she loved letting PawPaw Jerry carry her all over the place! We were going to do the hayride or the carriage ride, but the lines were just too long!! So we just walked around and looked at all the sights, and even visited with the Burkes and the Straceners!

Miss Priss had to take a royal nap on the way home. She was just so tired from all that Christmas-ing! It's gonna be a fun December!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We are very blessed to have most all of our family really close, but it does make for a busy Thanksgiving day!! We started the day in DeQuincy, and headed back north from there! Here are a few pics from our various stops along the way!

It was a long but very good day! We were even able to all get a nap at Mamaw's!! We are so thankful for all of our wonderful family! What a blessing to have so many Thanksgivings!!

Fun with Claire and Allie!!

Oh, what fun!! Abigail was so excited on Tuesday when Claire and Allie came to visit!! (She was also very happy that her Granny, Aunt Carol, and Em came as well!!) The girls had so much fun playing, and Abigail was just worn out when they left!! They always have such a good time together, and they get along really well!! Of course, the three Princesses do know how to behave like ladies!! (Well, Claire does--Allie and Abigail, I don't know...) The only casualty of the night was Ariel losing an arm...so that's pretty good!!

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

That's been running through my head all day. What a yucky day outside!!

But inside the castle...

While playing in her room, Miss Priss just HAD to have the window open so she could look for Hopper outside. I guess she wanted to make sure that he wasn't getting too wet! So up came the blinds and out came the Princess!! She was just talking to him, carrying on the best conversation, just like he could understand her! She is too funny!

This evening, not long before bathtime, the Princess somehow got into one of those glue mouse traps. If you've never messed with them, let me tell you, it's really fun getting all that glue off a curious 1 year old's hands. Yes, hands. I don't know how she saw it, much less got her hands on it. But before I could turn around, she had both hands stuck and was looking at me with that "Uh-Oh!" look on her face...

Oh, well, let's just say that a lot of Dawn, scrubbing, and nail polish remover later, about, oh, half of it came off.

What will tomorrow bring....??

Happy Birthday, Madison!!

What a fun Saturday!! Abigail and I went to her friend Madison's 2nd birthday party Saturday morning, and what fun we had!! The party was at "Paint-n-Party" in Leesville, and Abigail got to paint some Christmas ornaments (with a little help from Momma, of course!).

Although it took a few minutes, Abigail loved hanging out with Mr. Michael at the birthday party! She even gave him a sweet hug for carrying her around!

As I type this, Miss Priss is currently standing on her head because she is mad at me for not letting her type. She sure knows how to get me back!!

Monkeyin' Around...

In case you didn't know, we have a monkey at our house. She likes to climb and swing and jump off of things--all kinds of things! She thinks that she can get to anything she wants, no matter how high or small or tight the space...

Miss Priss loves playing with all her toys! She really likes the reading table and chair that Madison and Jace got for her! She's finally big enough to really play with it, and she loves all the sounds it makes! She sits in her chair like I do!!

Today...

...was another busy Sunday at the Slaydon Castle!! Daddy was working overtime (boo!), so once again, it was just us girls!! We are missing Daddy!! But he did cook lunch for us today, so we got to see him for a few minutes! Sundays are pretty hectic around our place--Sunday School, Church, lunch, nap (hopefully!), AWANA, baths, bed!!! At least we did get our nap this afternoon--FINALLY!! (Apparently, not everyone takes a nap on Sunday afternoons...) Here are a couple pics from today, a "before and after", if you will...

He-ey!!...

...read this Haaa-aaay!! Miss Priss has been saying this for quite some time now, but it's taken on a new meaning in the last few days! This is now her response whenever she does something that she knows or even thinks she's not supposed to do, and she gets busted on it! For example, Daddy caught her playing in the toilet on Friday--"Hee-eey!" (It's a 2 syllable word.) Then she smiles so sweet and tries to give you some sugar, so she won't get in trouble! I knew they started young, but really??!! She is just too funny!

Here's what happened today. I had stripped our bed and was doing some major washing/folding/putting away of clothes, sheets, towels, etc. The comforter on the bed was thrown back in preparation of the new fresh sheets that had just come out of the dryer.
Abigail climbed under and started pulling out all of my gift-wrapping supplies! I (quietly) ran to get the camera and then jerked the sheet up:

My Favorite Days...

First off, here's our weekly Sunday picture--you can see how excited we were about taking it!! You think she gets her picture taken enough???

Well, it finally happened...her first "major" injury, complete with blood and everything...

She was trying to climb into our bathtub last night, like she knows she's not supposed to. I told her "No, No!" and she had one of her Slaydon fits...she slammed her pretty head right into the edge of the bathtub and busted her top lip. After a few moments of sheer panic and a cold washcloth, we were both fine! She cried for a whole 10 seconds and then started laughing!! She's one tough cookie, that's for sure!!

The following pics are from today. Daddy had training all day (and night), so it was just us girls. We sure do miss him when he's gone, but we do enjoy our "lazy" days around the house. Sometimes I get a bit angry and frustrated that I have to work right now, because I want nothing more in this world than to be home with my Princess and her Daddy...but days like today just wouldn't be as special, I guess, if I was home all the time...We didn't do anything special, just hung out in our pj's and played all day, but these are my FAVORITE days of all.
She snuck off to her room at one point, and all of a sudden, I heard a symphony...
had to sneak in and get a pic before Mozart went on to something else!!

Later this afternoon, we had an impromptu toga party!! Miss Priss loves to find any sort of fabric (clothes, sheets, blankets--whatever's handy) and wrap up in it! She will wrap it around her neck and then lay down and say "Nite, Nite!" in that sweet little voice!!

Most of the time, she quickly jumps up, though, before sleep can actually set in...

The Cutest Ladybug EVER!!

Now, I really don't know if y'all are ready for this....I mean really, it's gonna be the cutest thing you have ever seen....(not counting your own kids, of course)....okay, you asked for it...........

Our Princess Ladybug did a little trick-or-treating last night around the neighborhood--as you can imagine, she was a big hit!! We topped off the night at Nana and PawPaw's, and boy did they have the candy ready!!!
PawPaw would feed Miss Priss her Smarties, which she loves, and he was rewarded with Lots of sugar!! Abigail loves her PawPaw!!

She even got some pretty necklaces that she refused to take off!!
