Waitin' on the Chickens!

The chicken "poop" is finally finished, and now the chickens have a big yard to play in!

Abigail and her Daddy finished up this past week, and now we just have to wait on the chickens to get here! Abigail is very excited about "her" chickens!

She was calling the chickens to come see their new house!

"Hopper-proofing" the yard!

Poor Frogs...

I love my kid! She is just so funny!!

Every day she cracks me up with something she says or does!

Here's a recent example:

She was in the tub the other night (funny stuff always happens in the bathtub, it seems!), and she was just playing and having a grand ol' time.

Then she tooted.

She grinned at me, and gave me that look that she gets from her Daddy:

"I didn't do it!"

I said, "Abigail, what do we say when we step on a frog?"

She smiled so sweetly and replied:

"Excuse me, Frog. I didn't mean to scare you! I so sorry!"

It's really becoming more and more difficult for Momma to maintain her composure in situations like that!! At least she was polite!!

"I Don't Remember..."

So I overheard my child yelling at something in the bathtub, and, like any good mother would do, I grabbed the camera before running to check on her!!

I'm not sure what she was fussing about, and apparently neither is she!!

This kid cracks me up!!

Chicken Poop!!

We've had a new little project going on at our house for the past few weeks, and I finally got around to posting a few pics!

Daddy decided we needed some chickens around here, so we were off to Home Depot last weekend to make them a house! He's done most of the work, but Abigail and I have helped out when we could.

This is Day 1--getting the frame built!

My girl is so smart!! She jumped on this board and then adjusted her weight and the length so that she could balance it and seesaw by herself!! (She must've known that Momma wouldn't be able to get back up off the ground if I'd have joined her!!)

Abigail's handsome Daddy getting started on the roof! It actually went pretty fast once he figured out how he wanted to build it.

This is pretty much the end of the first day. We got a lot accomplished for one day, I think!

It was back to work for me during the week, and it rained a good bit all week long.

Daddy and Abigail worked on it when they could, and the next few pics are the finished chicken "poop" as Abigail calls it!

Pretty much all that's left is putting the fence up and moving in the biddies when they get here!

They should be arriving in the next few weeks, so we'll keep you posted then!

What a fun afternoon!!

Abigail and I met up with Aunt Mellie and Avery and Mrs. Renee and Aubrey this afternoon in Moss Bluff, and oh, what fun we had!!

Abigail was so excited to get to see Baby Avery again and give her some good sugar!

And she and Aubrey became fast friends, just as soon as Miss Aubrey woke up from her nap!!

Sweet girls!! They really had fun playing all afternoon!

Aubrey was an excellent hostess!

Abigail even got to hold Baby Avery, which completely made her day!!

She is gonna be such a good big sister!!

My girl is just too little to be playing board games!!

She had so much fun last night, even though she didn't exactly understand the concept of "taking turns"!! (Some adults don't get that concept either, though, so I'm not worried!)

She is just too smart for her own good!!
